What began as a passion project taught us that mechanisms driving a city’s health show up in urban core areas everywhere.

Commyn is built around a simple premise: urban core areas don't recover because someone hopes they will. It recovers because someone is measuring the right things, and someone else is willing to act on what the measurement shows.

Commyn serve as the connective layer between three groups that are usually working from three different sets of assumptions — the businesses investing capital, the officials investing public dollars, and the residents living the outcome. Our research gives all three a shared, credible reference point, in whatever downtown we're working in.

We are not a developer, a landlord, or a business incubator. We are the data and accountability layer underneath urban revitalization — the part that tells you, in measurable terms, whether what's being built is actually making the neighborhood healthier, and whether that health is translating into the outcomes everyone's counting on.
